StabilityWOD 16: How To Self Correct an Elevated 1st Rib

Описание к видео StabilityWOD 16: How To Self Correct an Elevated 1st Rib

The first rib is a silent killer for many neck, shoulder, and arm problems. At the extreme the first rib can be involved in causing thoracic outlet syndrome, which is a medical emergency. However most of us deal with mildly and adaptively stiff first ribs due to poor posture, faulty movement, or shallow breathing patterns. Because the first rib can compress the brachial plexus (nerves that exit the neck and power the arm), dysfunction here commonly leads to muscle inhibition around the shoulder and arm which can de-stabilize the neck and shoulder. Here's how to self treat your elevated first rib.
