The paper treats the lattice to be composed of Euler-Bernoulli beams and presents a homogenization framework using that.
In this video, I have presented the finite-element analysis of the same structure using the 2D plane strain component of COMSOL.

What to follow:
Through the subsequent video(s), I will develop a fully automated application using the MATLAB LiveLink feature of COMSOL to create this model. I will also relax the periodicity of the structure; here, the automation would come in very handy. The motivation behind this is to engineer the plastic collapse of the lattice, so that it can be used in impact applications.
