Vantage can be summarized as follows:
In its first version is a shoddy production, lazy writing, missing entries, scattered instructions, and is best avoided.

At best (later editions, hopefully) it tries to be a collection of 126 different story openings that players can follow up on for a handful of scenes. The player gets a string of unrelated scenes and is invited to construct a story around it, as well as taking from memory what earlier plays gave him.

At planetfall you have no cards in grid but tokens to mitigate, and as you fill your grid with cards, your tokens dry up. Either you die very soon, or the game becomes too easy and will take forever unless you include a control mechanism (not provided by SM).

You could always get it while it's hot, try it out, sell if off to a greater fool if it disappoints.

recommended is to add a control mechanism to limit sessions that you didn't die off early on in. Place skill tokens on each of the slots of your 3x3 grid, and when you place a card move the token to the rightmost stat row that has no 3 skill tokens yet. Any 4th object pushes one stat to the left (player choice). Obviously this limits the game to 12 placements, so extend the grid to 4x3 instead of 3x3.

1:00 Rulebook is an amateurish mess. No typos, so it has been proofread.
But no structure, impossible to find, and rule parts are elsewhere.

3:00 Creator inspired by TotK/BotW, SG, but failed to incorporate their core appeal.
The rules are arbitrary, cards don't combo enough. zero solo consideration.
Ridiculously vague end conditions that are basically, yeah do whatever.

3:30 Vantage is not recommended for euro gamers.
(you will hate the aforementioned issues)

4:30 yes every time it is different, if you do it right.
But it all amounts to incomplete stories,
well actually incoherent landscape cards.

5:30 Creator was even too lazy to mention that cards should be rotated.
Not a big deal but it breaks immersion, don't ask the player to crawl in the head of the creator.

6:00 too lazy to write a proper setup.

6:40 the column should be numbered, the intuitive approach is to follow clockwise.
And here it is counter clockwise, again, showing disdain to the buyer.

7:00 then this choose vs randomly choose. Creator should provide guidance.
Here it's like go f yourself, do like whatever.

8:00 examples of non-standard wording are unending.
As if the creator never played an actual board game.

9:00 recipes (procedures) are all scattered.
Clear indication of cluttered thoughts.

11:00 in the end it's a bunch of random cards.

12:00 if you got this far, you know to avoid the first edition.
