Bookworm “Pattern”
I don’t really understand patterns but here’s my best ability to explain how I made my worm!
Head:
Start with a magic circle
Row 1: 10 single crochet into the center of the magic circle, then join with a slip stitch and chain one to make your next row
Row 2: Two single crochet into each stitch around the circle, then join with a slip stitch and chain one to make your next row
Row 3: One single crochet in each of the first three stitches, followed by two single crochets in the following stitch. Repeat around the circle 1, 1, 1, 2 until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
Row 4: One single crochet into each stitch, then join with a slip stitch when you completely the round and chain one to make your next row
Row 5: One single crochet into each stitch, then join with a slip stitch when you completely the round and chain one to make your next row
Row 6: One single crochet into each stitch , then join with a slip stitch when you completely the round and chain one to make your next row
Row 7: One single crochet into each stitch , then join with a slip stitch when you completely the round and chain one to make your next row
Row 8: One single crochet in each stitch for the first three stitches followed by one decrease, Repeat 1, 1, 1, decrease until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
Row 9: One single crochet in each stitch for the first five stitches followed by one decrease, Repeat 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, decrease until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
This completes your head!
At this point feel free to add eyes and stuff the head! Cut your head color and attach the first color of the body
Body:
(This will repeat for each new little bobble on your worm's body)
Row 1: One single crochet in each of the first three stitches, followed by two single crochets in the following stitch. Repeat around the circle 1, 1, 1, 2 until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
Row 2: One single crochet in each of the first three stitches, followed by two single crochets in the following stitch. Repeat around the circle 1, 1, 1, 2 until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
Row 3: One single crochet in each stitch around the circle, slip stitch closed at the end and chain one to make your next row
Row 4: One single crochet in each stitch around the circle, slip stitch closed at the end and chain one to make your next row
Row 5: One single crochet in each of the first three stitches, followed by one decrease. Repeat around the circle 1, 1, 1, decrease until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
Row 6: One single crochet in each of the first three stitches, followed by one decrease. Repeat around the circle 1, 1, 1, decrease until you complete the circle. Then slip stitch closed and chain one to make your next row
Repeat starting at row 1 of the body for the next book!
