A heavy police presence in Budadiri Town Council stopped a planned demonstration by angry residents from taking place in the eastern Uganda town. The locals were up in arms with the Sironko Resident District Commissioner, Moses Wamoto for what they described as his highhanded manner of resolving their community problems. The RDC recently ordered the arrest of 50 residents accused of engaging in power theft.
