Michigan Road Trip Vlog - Traverse City (Part 1)

Time for a Road Trip! We're exploring the state of Michigan and our first stop is Traverse City, which is apparently the cherry capital of the country.

Here are some fun things to do in Traverse City. We hit up a couple of wineries. It was my first time trying Michigan wines. We did wine tastings at Brys Estate, Bonobos and Mari Vineyards. We stopped at Jolly Pumpkin for dinner which was beautiful restaurant on the peninsula.
To cap off the first day, we went to the end of the peninsula and saw the Mission Point Lighthouse.

The next day, we drove an hour west to Glen Arbor and hiked at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The beaches were absolutely gorgeous. We got a bite to eat at Cherry Republic.
We ended the day with a delicious 7 course meal at the Cook's House in downtown Traverse. Make sure to make a reservation early. The restaurant isn't large and the seats get booked far in advance. To pair with our meal, we got a Cremant de Limoux and a 20 year tawny port for our dessert.

I had a blast. (This was our first trip as a couple!) Next time we are heading to the Upper Peninsula to see Pictured Rocks!
