‪@travisbaldree‬ and I filmed this interview at Dragoncon 2023 in Atlanta. I went to Dragoncon with the unpublished Sanderson interview in hand and no other authors scheduled to interview. I reached out to Travis and he was kind enough to agree.

Then I had to go about finding an actual place to record the interview. Dragoncon had all their rooms booked up, of course, but the folks at my hotel were kind enough to rent the room out to me for a few hours at a time. I already had a full wagon (no, literally, I had a collapsible wagon) of camera equipment, tripods, cameras, all that good stuff. There was no way I could bring a lighting kit, so I'm very grateful that my friend Levi Johnson helped me color grade the footage afterward. If you saw the end of the Sanderson interview, you saw this footage was very yellow before in part due to the lighting situation.

Travis was on a very tight schedule that day, but he made time to come do this silly interview. I think I may have even made him a little late for his obligations after the interview, but he still asked if there was anything I needed help putting away before he left. I was frazzled, trying to set up all this camera equipment by myself for the first time in this room I had gotten last minute. But Travis was very patient with me and didn't rush me, even though he had places to be. He even helped me fix a tripod that was being uncooperative.

Travis is the definition of chaotic good. He's friendly, kind, and most importantly, will always commit to the bit. Conventions are where authors are put to the test. There's lots of people, you stay up too late, and they're all-around exhausting. I saw Travis multiple times throughout the week at Dragoncon and his smile never wavered.
