Lendon Gray interviews four young dressage professionals who have brought their non-traditional horses up to Grand Prix: Matt Baillargeon with his half draft PMU mare, Alex Gainer with her off-the-track thoroughbred, Emily Gill with her Morgan, and Hannah Irons with her paint pony.


Matt Baillargeon is a USDF silver medalist, Winter Intensive Training (WIT) Program participant, and recipient of the 2019 D4K Christian Kennedy Young Adult Scholarship.


Alex Gainer is a USDF gold medalist, Winter Intensive Training (WIT) Program participant, and has trained with Debbie McDonald and Adrienne Lyle, among others.


Emily Gill is a USDF gold medalist, has her German Small Bronze Medal, has worked for the Hannover Verband in Verden, and was the recipient of the 2018 D4K Christian Kennedy Young Adult Scholarship.

Hannah Irons won team gold at the 2019 North American Youth Championships (NAYC), participated in the Discover Dressage USEF/USDF High Intensity Training Session at the USET in 2019, and participated in the 2020 Robert Dover Horsemastership Clinic Week.
