I've been looking to compose another art video to accompany Bing Satellites music, ever since I put up a video for "Sunrise, South London" (which garnered a very good response)

I couldn't find anything in my collection, or even in Bing Satellites backlist - but then while I was looking, he published "Blue Skies and Cherry Blossoms" today!

Its mood is uplifting, floating, and slightly more emotionally varied (not triumphant, but striving gently, breaking through into warmth) than some of his longer pieces, and that suited the amount of change I wanted in the video.

I set out to create an effect of glowing light, enhanced by the use of a dark background (similar to the effect of stained glass windows in churches).

Brin Coleman (Bing Satellites) describes the music thus:

"A very chilled and peaceful ambient album, improvised and recorded live.

Each piece starts off as a blank canvas. I create a range of sounds on laptop, synths and guitar before I begin. I press record and play a few notes into a long, slowly decaying loop and see where the music takes me.

Creating music this way seems to tap into anything I feel or wish to express at that time much more explicitly than if I had purposefully written a piece of music. This method of creating music seems to tap into my unconscious and my emotions. "
