New shoes, who dis! Day 20 on the GDT meant brand new shoes, gorgeous scenery, and beautiful weather. We started off at Elk Lake trailhead for a smoky walk around Kananaskis Lake to the trail junction leading up past Hidden Lake and Fossil Falls to Aster Lake. After lunch, we hiked through the wildflowers, fording they flood plain, and then headed up the steep cairned route to the Northover route.
