A teenage girl who was stabbed to death outside a bus on her way to an independent girls' school has been named as Eliyanna Andam. The 15-year-old was stabbed in the neck with a foot-long knife near the Whitgift shopping centre in Croydon during the morning rush hour, a witness said. A 17-year-old boy, who knew the victim, was arrested just over an hour after the attack. Fifteen of the 79 people to have died in the capital so far this year have been teenagers. And this is a countrywide problem - the latest knife crime figures for England and Wales show how the West Midlands and Cleveland is the knife crime capital of England with 178 crimes reported for every 100,000 people. What can be done to solve the knife crime crisis? And who is to blame?
