Developed by Capcom in 1990, the game blends fast-paced sci-fi action with a darker, futuristic tone that feels very different from the main Street Fighter series. The Spaceway stage is one of the most atmospheric parts of the game — a mix of cosmic isolation, tense platforming, and relentless enemy encounters.

In this video, I created a Synthwave Mix of the original Spaceway theme. My goal was to keep the soul of the 8-bit melody intact while expanding it into a larger, more cinematic soundscape. You’ll hear the raw textures of classic chiptune elements merged with warm retro pads, punchy basslines, and the neon-soaked vibe of modern synthwave. If you enjoy retro music, NES game music, or 80s-inspired electronic styles, this blend should feel right at home.

During the production process, I tried to preserve the characteristic NES sound palette — pulse waves, triangle bass, noise-based percussion — while enhancing the track with richer harmonies and a wider stereo field. The idea was simple: What would this theme sound like if it had been composed today, without losing its original 8-bit identity?

Street Fighter 2010 is not a traditional fighting game despite its name. It’s actually a high-speed sci-fi action-platformer with multidirectional combat and stage-based progression. The story follows a cybernetically enhanced warrior traveling through dimensional portals to battle alien creatures across multiple worlds. The soundtrack is known for pushing the limits of the NES hardware, delivering intense and memorable NES game soundtrack compositions.
