Desperation Moves in Battle Arena Toshinden function similar to other games, where you can only perform them when your character's health is low. The game's Secret Moves are really powerful Special Moves, kind of like Super Moves with no meter requirements. They are, however, on the whole, much harder to pull off than Special or Desperation Moves.
