Khet Talab Yojana: With the onset of monsoon, the work of cultivation of Kharif crops has started in India. Due to water scarcity, some states are completely dependent on rain based farming for agriculture. So in some states the water level in the earth is going down. In such a situation, 'Khet Talab Yojna' is becoming a messiah for the farmers.

This scheme is being run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh with a view to increase the income of the farmers and reduce the expenditure. The objective of 'Khet Talab Yojana' is to make irrigation easier in agriculture by collecting rainwater, for which 50% subsidy is being given to farmers for digging ponds in the field itself.


What is Khet Pond Scheme

The level of water in the earth is decreasing, due to which farmers have to spend a lot on irrigation equipment. In order to reduce the burden of this expenditure, the Uttar Pradesh government is being encouraged to store rain water harvesting. This grant will be directly deposited in the bank account of the farmers in three installments. According to the reports, a grant of Rs 52,500 will be given for the construction of a small pond in the field and Rs 1,14,200 for the construction of a big pond.
