Schalke’s meeting with Freiburg was a hard-fought match, so much so in fact that a challenge between S04’s Benjamin Stambouli and SCF’s Janik Haberer close to the dugout saw the latter fly towards his own coach. Christian Streich didn’t have time to get out the way and felt the full force of his defender, whose crunching slide tackle brought Streich to the ground. Fortunately he was fine to continue, but the Freiburg gaffer will no doubt have felt that one in the morning.
