In 1996, Pitchell formed his band, Jeff Pitchell & Texas Flood, named in homage to a Stevie Ray Vaughan tune. The group quickly gained traction, performing at notable events like the 1997 Bluestock in Memphis and releasing their debut album, "Fat Cigars," the same year. Their subsequent albums, "One Day Away" (1999) and "Face to Face" (2001), further solidified their presence in the blues scene.

A pivotal moment in Pitchell's career was the release of "Heavy Hitter" in 2002 under Pyramid Records/EMI. This album soared to No. 7 on the Billboard Blues Charts, surpassing works by esteemed artists such as Delbert McClinton, Robert Cray, and Etta James. The album's success was bolstered by collaborations with luminaries like Dave Mason, Clarence Clemons, Rick Derringer, and James Cotton.

Throughout his illustrious career, Pitchell has shared stages and studios with a plethora of legendary musicians, including B.B. King, Buddy Guy, J. Geils, Phil Lesh, and members of the Allman Brothers Band. His versatility and passion have led to performances across the United States and international venues, captivating audiences with his blend of blues, rock, and soul.
