Sailing to Dartmouth and Salcombe 2022

Checking out the Dartmouth Regatta fireworks and partying hard in Salcombe.
This episode was one of those last-minute decisions. We woke up and the sun was shinning in Exeter. A quick check of the tides meant we had just two hours before leaving the anchorage and our boat is 10 miles away. We made it, and what a great decision, we had lots of sunshine and the wind was in our favour for a change. We stopped to cool off in one of the bays on the way to Dartmouth. We had a prime spot to anchor on the River Dart in Dartmouth and watch the spectacular fireworks. This was the crescendo of the end of the Dartmouth Royal Regatta. The following day we had a beautiful sail across to Salcombe. Here we moored up on the “bag” and met up with other members of the Moody Owners South West. Our puppy dog, Hero, managed to make lots of new friends and we were invited to a cocktail party on a fabulous Princess yacht. An evening of dancing and singing ensued…. as well as Port with Chocolate fingers! We explore the surrounding woodland and beaches of Salcombe whilst waiting for a weather window to take us back to the river Exe.
