A picnic in the Pyrenees mountains in the Basque country in the south west of France. This video contains edited highlights from our picnic in the mountains. It was a hot summer's day so we drove south into the mountains. We gained about 1000m in elevation and lost 10 degrees in temperature, making it a pleasant break from the unrelenting summer heat. Various animals crossed our path including Blonde D'Aquitaine cattle (which provided our steak), and Latxa which are native sheep that produce a regional speciality mountain cheese. There were also Pottocks which are an ancient breed of horses native to this area.
