The Story & Setting:
The game focuses on this massive urban redesign of Lumiose City, promising a denser, vertically-explorable map packed with secrets, boutiques, and the all-new Wild Zones—modern, technologically-advanced habitats for wild Pokémon within the city. You'll choose one of the three partner Pokémon—Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile—to begin your journey. The mystery deepens with the return of the ancient, nine-foot-tall figure AZ, and his partner, the unusual Eternal Flower Floette. Your adventure centers around the strange phenomenon of Rogue Mega Evolution, where wild Pokémon Mega Evolve on their own, becoming dangerously uncontrollable. You'll join Team MZ and stay at the central Hotel Z as you work to solve these incidents and uncover the true meaning of the "ultimate weapon" and the city's past.

Mega Evolution is Back! Learn how to find Mega Shards and Mega Stones at places like the Stone Emporium to unlock your Pokémon's full potential.
New Mega Evolutions: See the rumored new forms for fan-favorites like Dragonite, Absol (Second Form), and Garchomp (Second Form)! Which Mega is your favorite?
Real-Time Battle System: Battles now feature real-time movement and strategy, forcing you to consider position, timing, and move reach.
Wild Zones & Catching: Explore designated Wild Zones and different city districts. Master the art of the sneak attack and how to catch Pokémon by simply throwing a Poké Ball!
Z-A Battle Club: Compete in exciting Link Battles against other trainers with a three-minute time limit, utilizing all your best moves and Mega Evolutions.
Customization: Lumiose City is the fashion capital! Check out the Boutiques and Salons for extensive character customization, including hairstyles, color-blocking, and accessories.
Fast Travel: Unlock Travel Spots and the Lumi Cab taxi service for quick traversal across the massive city map.

No Despawns: A huge quality-of-life change! Shiny Pokémon do not despawn if you walk away, Fast Travel, or even if the time of day changes. They wait for you until you catch, faint, or scare them off.
