Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, marking the start of the five-day AI Impact Summit 2026. The event aims to showcase India's AI capabilities and establish the nation as a leading voice for the Global South in the artificial intelligence revolution. During the inauguration, the Prime Minister visited various stalls and interacted with startups, hailing the summit for bringing the world together and highlighting the progress of India's youth in science and technology. The summit features over 600 startups and 13 country pavilions, focusing on themes of people, planet, and progress. Global leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Lula da Silva, are attending the event, which expects over 2.5 lakh visitors. An unidentified speaker noted that the UK and India share a 'fantastic base in the free trade agreement' and are focused on the 'responsible adoption of AI' to spread opportunities across both nations.
