The Premier League Community Facility Fund (PLCFF), funded by the Premier League and delivered by the Football Foundation, is investing £18m over three years to develop new or refurbished sports facilities for local people across the country.

The new PLCFF-enhanced sites will also help to strengthen links between professional football clubs and their communities, and will become venues for the clubs' outreach work. The Fund is open to all football club community-led organisations from the Premier League, Football League, and Football Conference, including the Conference North and South Divisions.

The Stretford Sports Village now boasts a full-size floodlit third generation artificial grass pitch after the Manchester United Foundation, in conjunction with Stretford High School and Trafford Borough Council applied to the PLCFF.

The school had always suffered from a very poor provision of sports facilities, despite being situated in the shadow of two of the city's major sporting landmarks: Manchester United and Lancashire County Cricket Club's Old Trafford stadiums. £350,000 PLCFF funding has helped create a stunning new community multi-sport complex.
