Activist Rachel Lloyd started the Girls Education and Mentoring Service (GEMS) in New York City - a shelter and resource center for American girls recovering from commercial sexual exploitation. Rachel's mission grew out of her own experience as a child in England. She didn't just survive abuse and exploitation; she grew up, got herself to America, and took on the system, working to expose the issues that contribute to the crime while empowering girls who got out of the same experiences. Listen what we can do for vulnerable girls to make a real difference in their lives.
