In UPI (Unified Payments Interface) fraud, scammers often pose as bank representatives or service providers, claiming they need to "verify" your account. They may call or send messages asking for your OTP (One-Time Password), supposedly to confirm or complete a transaction. In reality, the OTP is used to authorize a money transfer from your account. Once the OTP is shared, the scammers gain access to your UPI-linked bank account and can steal your money. Genuine banks or services never ask for your OTP.
