Blue Balloon Theatre is excited to present Pill, a one-act, verbatim play written, produced and performed by Rebecca Phythian along with fellow actor and LIPA Graduate ‪@AdamMartyn‬ !

This politically driven, gritty performance explores the contraceptive pill and it's mighty list of side effects from first hand experience.

Our aim with Pill is to start a dialogue about contraception and women's sexual health, specifically but not limited to the different types of contraceptive pill, in order to give our audiences the confidence to ask questions about their sexual health and retrieve the information they may need about contraceptives.

6 years of development, research and exploration have gone into this show in order to represent as many women's stories as possible and to further that, the contraceptive Pill has never been spoken about at length in any published piece of theatre so it's safe to say, we can't wait to change that!

Pill was performed at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival on July 1st and 2nd and FUSE International Festival on 8th July 2022. We were thrilled to have received incredible feedback from our audiences and reviewers, with brilliant and open discussion taking place during the post-show Q&A after each Manchester performance.
