Ph.D. is not a requirement for an EB1A Green Card. Most people from the Smart Green Card program do not have a Ph.D.

This misconception originated because most people that got EB1 were awarded an EB1B visa which is for outstanding researchers. While EB1B itself doesn't necessitate a Ph.D., most outstanding researchers happen to have one.

EB1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) criteria does not require you to have ANY degree.

USCIS evaluates various criteria to determine if an individual qualifies as an alien of extraordinary ability, such as receiving national or international awards, membership in professional organizations, contributions of major significance to the field, and other EB1A evidence that demonstrate extraordinary ability.
