[4K] Celebrating Festa De San Pedro At The Portuguese Settlement, Malacca

I had the chance to experience The Festa De San Pedro (the Feast of Saint Peter, also known as the Feast of Fishermen) in the Portuguese Settlement, Malacca. The Portuguese Settlement is a simple fishing village originally called Saint John's Village.

The Festa De San Pedro is celebrated from 29 June to 2 July every year, five days after the Festa De San Juang. Watch the video here:

The highlight of the Festa De San Pedro begins with the evening mass, followed by a procession and blessings of the fishermen's boats. Some boats will be decorated for the annual boat decoration competition. Judges will pick the winner based on the boat decoration's originality, creativity, cleanliness and religious aspects.

Visitors can try authentic Malaccan-Portuguese food, which is only served during the 4-day celebration. There are also traditional village games, cultural, and live band performances which will be held in the evening.

If you've never experienced the Festa De San Pedro, you should go for it at least once in your lifetime!
