Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump holds a rally in Pennsylvania, a battleground state.

Trump stunned a conference of black journalists by telling them that Kamala Harris portrayed herself as Indian for many years and then “happened to turn black”.

Trump was testy from the start of his conversation with three female journalists, calling his first questioner “horrible” and “rude” for asking about his record accusing Barack Obama of not being born in the US, as well as inviting a white supremacist for dinner at his Florida home in 2022.
