The Fungus infects rice grain and convers the into large greenish or Yellow velvety fruiting bodies. In the beginning, mature spores are orange and after some time they change in yellowish green or greenish black.
False Smut disease infects only a few grains of the panicle. Prevalence of this has the high possibility of humidity, rain, and cloudy days during the flowering period. High usage of organic manure on nitrogenous fertilizers also increase the possibility of this disease.

Control:

Spray the crop during panicle emerging with of Bayer Nativo @ 80 Grams in 200 liters of water per acre.
After 10 days, give the second spray of Tilt @ 200 ml in 200 liters of Water per acre.
