Using the found, mistreated and very old pastels that I have gathered lately, I made this little artwork.
This piece was inspired by two things: this bunch of flowers I bought myself, along with some sad news about my old girl, Bebe - she's okay, I just had a really frank talk with the vet about her overall health and comfort as an elderly greyhound moving forward. With thought of Bebes ailing health and old bones, this bunch of colourful flowers, and my recent play times with soft pastel, this is what emerged!
I let my hand go for it. I didn't replicate the flowers exactly, I really just focused on mark making and dotting colours around, using the bunch as inspiration or reference more than anything. What a lovely time it was.
