For this fifth relaxing journey in Euro Truck Simulator 2, we set off from Amsterdam and head east toward Kassel, Germany. It’s an unhurried evening drive that slowly carries us into the night, perfect for winding down and letting the road do the work.

We start the journey easing out of the depot in Amsterdam, waiting patiently for a gap in traffic before finally breaking free. You’re joining me at around 18:40, just as daylight begins to fade. With only a short rest behind us, this becomes a long, steady night drive, the kind where the darkness gradually settles in and the miles quietly roll by.

Along the way, you might notice a few small changes inside the cab: a new steering wheel, a couple of SpongeBob trinkets hanging from the windscreen, and a small Christmas tree adding a subtle seasonal touch. Nothing flashy, just little details that make the space feel lived in.

We say goodbye to Amsterdam and make our way through Germany, passing Duisburg via the Krefeld-Uerdinger Bridge as city lights shimmer across the water below. Dortmund follows soon after, a city with deep industrial roots and a strong footballing identity, still quietly alive even late into the night.

As midnight approaches, the road begins to slow us down naturally. The final stretch leads us away from the cities and onto winding country roads — dark, calm, and almost completely still — bringing the journey to a gentle close.
