STORYLINE:
Confusion reigned in the Idomeni camp for migrants and refugees on the closed border between Greece and Macedonia on Sunday.
Sunday is the day the migration agreement between the European Union and Turkey comes into effect - but its implementation still remains uncertain.
As part of the deal, migrants who arrive on the Greek islands are to be screened and their identity recorded before being sent back to Turkey.
The Balkan borders are to remain closed, but most migrants already on Greek territory are to be exempt from plans for a swift deportation.
At the Idomeni camp on Sunday, migrants tried to seek information on the EU-Turkey deal - many responding with disappointment.
The migrants have been advised to register for relocation within the EU, but they will not have any say in where they'll end up.
The Greek government on Friday said conditions at the camp were "intolerable" and suggested housing the migrants in rail sleeper cars.
But the local mayor on Sunday said this was not a solution and that the migrants should be relocated to organised camps with proper facilities.
