September is National Suicide Prevention Month and we want to highlight the importance of treating our veterans and first responders not only physically, but mentally.
Far too often, the connection between physical and mental health is overlooked. The reality is that 42% of veterans who experienced TBIs during service also had significantly low hormone levels.
Abnormal hormone levels can cause not only physical symptoms but mental symptoms as well. Even those similar to Post-Traumatic Stress and Depression.
Ernest Colling, CEO of Transcend, said it best: “The best thing you can do for anybody in that situation is get to the bloodwork, look at the markers, find out exactly what’s going on, and address that first.”
