At a news conference Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump held a press conference at the National Doral resort in Florida, were he seemed to threaten intensified action on Iran if the country made any “attempt to stop the globe’s oil supply.”

US stocks closed higher following a remarkable reversal as oil prices fell from nearly $120 per barrel, their highest since 2022, back toward $90.

President Donald Trump said military operations in Iran could end "soon,” with the operation moving ahead of schedule.

Two levels of leadership are gone, most people have never even heard of the leadership that they're talking about, so it's obviously been very powerful, very effective," Trump said.

The president said Iran is “decimated,” with 90% decline in Iranian missile launchers

He also issued a warning to Iran, threatening the country not to mess with that global oil supply. The Strait of Hormuz is a major controller of the world's oil supply.

“They’ll get hit at a much much harder level,” Trump said.

On Monday, the Department of War "Rapid Response" page made a post to X, saying, "We have Only Just Begun to Fight."

Trump described the war as the "beginning of building a new country," referring to Iran as having a lack of leadership and military equipment.

"We could call it a tremendous success right now or could go further and we're going to go further. The big risk of that war has been over for three days. We wiped them out in the first two days," Trump said.

Seven U.S. soldiers were killed while supporting the military efforts.

“We left some of the most important targets for later in case we need to do it, were not looking to do that if we don’t have to,” he added.

After joint U.S. and Israeli strikes killed Iran's supreme leader, the country appointed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son as the next in charge, installing another hardline figure to run the country.

A recently compiled classified assessment from the National Intelligence Council finds that the U.S. military strikes that decimated the country would not be able to topple the regime.

Trump said he was "disappointed" in the choice for the next leader, but did not clarify whether he has a target on his back.
