Dr Vicky Ho of the Smile Design Studio in Mosman Park shares her journey of how she got started in dentistry.

As a child, she didn't have very nice teeth, was bulled throughout school and subsequently became a little withdrawn. Because of the cost of orthodontic treatment, her parents were unable to afford to get her teeth straightened by an orthodontist.

It wasn't until the end of high school that she began her 3 year treatment with the traditional metal track braces and finally got her teeth fixed.

Orthodontic treatment is normally done before the age of 17, but an experienced dentist can usually get the desired results.

She also suffered from teeth crowding, and required several teeth to be extracted so as to correct the protruding teeth.

Dr Ho initially studied for veterinary before being encouraged to get into dentistry.

When braces come off, you're able to become more of who you are.

To be able to help patients transform their smiles is what drives her passion every day.
