Fitting the NEW DJI V2 upgrade ESCs, motors to Phantom 2 or Vision+

With only basic soldering skills, no workshop, big shed or dealer support, how to do the V2 motor and ESC upgrades to your Phantom on your kitchen table when they become available.

Here's a run through of how I went about fitting the samples sent by DJI to a Phantom 2, with some hints and tips I picked up on the way. Please note I will NOT be showing you how to solder - you'll need to watch videos from those far more practised than I. I think we'll call my efforts "adequate". Next step is to wait for a weather window and see if the thing will fly - and if the V2 upgrades make it fly better?
