Video: In this video I’ll tell you how often to replace batteries in a blood pressure monitor and a battery tip which may save your monitor from damage. Kevin Garce here, to be notified of my future blood pressure videos, click the subscribe button and the bell icon. Lets get right to it, the batteries in a blood pressure monitor should be changed under three circumstances. The first one might be obvious which is when the battery charge indicator indicates a low charge. Depending on your monitor this may be a battery low message or when only one bar is remaining on the indicator or the indicator blinks or changes its color. The 2nd time is when the display screen appears dimmer and less bright than usual. It’s a good idea to become familiar with how the screen appears when it has new batteries installed. The next time is when you turn on the monitor and the display does not come on. This may indicate a few problems but the first recommendation when this occurs is to change the batteries. Typically this problem occurs more when the monitor hasn’t been used in a long time and the batteries drained with the monitor unused. If you don’t use your monitor regularly, like at least a few months to a year long, it’s a good idea to remove the batteries so they don’t leak or corrode which may ruin your battery compartment and monitor. There’s no set timeframe to change the batteries in your monitor, how often you need to change them depends on how much you use your monitor.
