MMONE Exclusive: an interview of legenday Boston-area disc jockey Arnie "Woo-Woo" Ginsburg conducted by Dean Johnson.

Arnie Ginsberg has been a fixture in the Boston radio and television media scene for eight decades, beginning at WBOS 1600 AM in 1956 and moving on to WMEX 1510 AM, not long after. At WMEX, Arnie perfected his "Woo Woo" persona with bells, whistles, horns, and other sound effects that he would use often during this shows on the air.

Arnie also hosted Friday night record hops at the Surf Ballroom at Nantasket Beach, where he introduced Frankie Avalon, Gene Pitney and local garage acts like the Rockin’ Ramrods to Massachusetts audiences.

In his later career, Arnie moved took management roles at other Boston-area radio stations such as WBCN, WXKS and WWEL.

In 1985, along with John Garabedian, he launch V-66 -- Boston's over-the-air video music channel and in 2008, Arnie Ginsburg was deservedly enshrined in the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
