In November 2021, Arvind Kejriwal brought a New Excise Policy and implemented it without the approval of the Cabinet.

In July 2022, the Chief Secretary of Delhi said that the New Excise Policy has some loopholes which must be checked. In the same month, the LG instructed the CBI to inquire into the matter. When CBI began its inquiry, Arvind Kejriwal withdrew the New Excise Policy....
