How To Remove AMP Pages From Google Search Engine

Here's how I removed my indexed amp pages from Google. I'm still in the process of fixing my AMP images and they go and release another update that creates more issues for me. AMP Wordpress plugin 1.5.1 is the end of the road for me.

HTACCESS CODE

Redirect from AMP to non-AMP path
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} (.+)/amp(.*)$
RewriteRule ^ %1/ [R=301,L]

UPDATE 8th June 2020: I'm back to using AMP once more. I discovered my cache plugin was to blame for the never ending errors despite clearing it severally. I deactivated it and all my errors are almost gone. I have to figure out this caching thing later when all errors are resolved.
