How The Beatles made "Oh! Darling." |

Paul began writing "Oh! Darling" as early as December 1968, shortly after the release of the White Album. He ran through the song on piano on January 3, 1969, the second day of rehearsals for the Get Back sessions. This indicates Paul offered it for the project alongside "The Long And Winding Road" and "Let It Be." It's suggested that "Oh! Darling" was inspired by Little Richard's "Send Me Some Lovin'," which the Beatles played on January 6th.

John, who didn’t claim any songwriting credit, felt he could have sung it better, though he acknowledged it was Paul's song.
