The Asian Apprenticeship Awards:
Launched in 2016
The Asian Apprenticeship Awards is a flagship event to celebrate the talent and diversity in apprenticeships among British Asians within the BME community. It’s an opportunity to celebrate and promote individuals as well as recognising the success of businesses/organisations that have played an integral part in investing in young people and apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships deliver not only for individuals and businesses, but they’re also essential to the economy. It’s our belief that young people in apprenticeships and the employers who provide them with opportunities should be both recognised and celebrated. More than two million apprenticeships have already been undertaken and the government is aiming for another three million starts by 2020, including increasing the proportion of apprenticeships taken up by young people from BME backgrounds by 20% and increasing BME employment by 20%. We believe in diversity and equality. The Asian Apprenticeship Awards aims to showcase the range of talent and hard work within the BME group which will be made possible with the contribution of employers and learning providers who share these beliefs. With the expansion of higher and degree apprenticeships, there’s more opportunity than ever before for young people, and it’s our ambition that it will become the norm for young people to choose between an apprenticeship or university on an equal basis.
