While The Kids Are Surreal (or WTKAS for short) is certainly a mouthful for a band name in an age when band names getting shorter and succinct, but it is in expansive form that one can only begin to understand this six piece.

Their sound melds together the lyrical flow of hip-hop artists like Lupe Fiasco and indie rock bands of the 2000s without ever encroaching on nu-metal territory, we might add. Instead, the music is always dance-y and loads of feel good vibes. The combination of rapid-fire delivery of guitarist, Nicco combined with the rock-crooning style of Zamir provide for an interesting counterpoint for the more contemporary rock band sound.

And interesting is very much the order of the day as the band continues to expand and absorb their diverse influences into a melting pot to continually find that fresh sound to entertain their equally diverse and expanding fan base.
