File Handling in java | absolute and relative path | Java file class | isAbsolute() method of File class Difference between absolute path and relative path?

public boolean isAbsolute():-returns 'true' if the path of the file is absolute path.


Difference between Absolute path and Relative path:-

Absolute path:-

1. an absolute path is a path that describes the location of the file or folder regardless of the current working directory.

2.Absolute path , also refered to as file path or full path., refers to a specific location in the file system, irrespective of the current working directory.It is th location of file or folder in a computer which contains the root directory and the complete directory list that is require to locate the file.


Relative path:-
-----------------
1. A relative path is a path that describes the location of the file or folder in relative to the current working directory.
2. A relative path refers to the location of a directory using current working directory as a refernce, which avoids the need tto specify the full absolute path,.Thus a relative path is also called as non absolute path.
