Join us for Sheridan's Early Childhood Education Expo 2022 on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 10 am to 5 pm ET!

Visit employers and community partners’ virtual booths throughout the day to network, ask questions and find out about available job opportunities and resources. Hear from inspiring alumni who will share their career stories and advice with current students and fellow grads during the ECE Alumni panel from 12 to 1 pm ET. Attend the end-of-day professional development workshop from 4 to 5 pm ET on "Creating Accessible and Inclusive Work Terms/Placement Sites".

Join one session, all sessions, or take a break and come back. Join us at any time throughout the day!

Jenny Huang, Bachelor of EC Leadership, 18 Owner, Jenny's Child Care & Play

Jenny HuangI am a registered Early Childhood Educator and a graduate in the Early Childhood Leadership program at Sheridan College with a passion for promoting early childhood learning and play during early years. My research for my master's degree in Education on how live oral storytelling promotes young children's social emotional development further embarked my interest in opening my own childcare centre - Jenny's Child Care & Play. I'd love to implement live storytelling with my children and see them interact, learn, play, and grow.

Lisa Kiriakopoulos, Early Childhood Education Manager - Early Years, Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board

Lisa KiriakopoulosLisa Kiriakopoulos is a graduate of Sheridan College's ECE program from 1988. She spent the first 15 years of her ECE career working in licensed childcare both as an ECE and a supervisor.

In 2003 Lisa was a part of the start-up of Ontario Early Years Centres (now EarlyON) which were the first provincially developed parent/child programs.

Following that experience Lisa moved from the not-for-profit early years sector to Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board in 2008. Initially her work was with early years and before and after-school programs in schools, and then she worked with the team leading the implementation of full day kindergarten. She is currently the Manager of the Early Years department.

Between these career milestones Lisa completed a diploma in Human Resource Management and an undergrad in Early Childhood Studies. Lisa also taught a post diploma ECE course in Human Resources at Mohawk College and had a short secondment with the Ministry of Education.

Lisa proudest accomplishment is being a parent and now a grandparent.

Lauren Mery, Bachelor of EC Leadership '17 Program Director, PLASP Child Care Services

Lauren MeryLauren Mery is a Registered Early Childhood Educator who graduated from the Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership program at Sheridan College with high honours as the Faculty of Health and Community Studies class Valedictorian. She began her studies with interests in child development, human development, and early childhood educator advocacy. Lauren has worked in several different child development settings, including an EarlyON Child and Family centre, private school, childcare centre and, presently, program supervisor in a Before-and-After School program. While working in the childcare and early learning sector, Lauren decided to further purse her education with a Master of Education and Educational Leadership from Yorkville University. Her thesis will explore the effects of organizational toxicity and educator burnout in the sector. Lauren is a dedicated and passionate educator in the field. She hopes to continue to support the development of young children and advocate for all educators, teachers, and the sector as a whole. Her goal is to achieve her master’s degree and continue teaching with adult learners by supporting preservice early childhood educators.
