Krish, the original director and screenplay writer of HHVM, led the project for over four years, shaping the narrative and shooting most of Part 1 until he stepped out in March–May 2025 due to creative differences, prolonged delays, and Pawan Kalyan’s political commitments.

In his rare public note titled “with love and fury,” Krish called the film “one of my most passionate battles,” praised Pawan Kalyan as the soul of the creative vision, and thanked producer AM Rathnam.

Krish emphasized there is no rift with Pawan Kalyan and expressed willingness to collaborate in the future—underscoring mutual respect despite walking away.


Jyothi Krishna’s Direction & Vision
After Krish exited, AM Rathnam’s son A. M. Jyothi Krishna completed the remaining shooting and post-production for HHVM: Part 1. He merged Krish’s footage with his own direction to bring the film to completion.

Jyothi Krishna admitted the challenge of integrating massive pre-shot footage and aligning it to present a cohesive narrative. He described himself stepping into an already foundational creative vision and working to bring it alive.


In more recent remarks, Jyothi voiced concern over online negativity, insisting fans should avoid rumor mongering and support the film despite behind‑the‑scenes turbulence. He defended the team’s efforts and pledged strong audience experience.

⚔️ 3. Creative Clash: Perspectives on Dharma & Heroism
Reports indicate a conceptual divergence: Krish initially envisioned Pawan’s character as an outlaw hero resisting Mughal rule—a rebellious spirit. In contrast, Jyothi Krishna framed the hero in a more Dharmic, Shivaji‑like trope, championing righteousness.

The film was restructured for a two-part release (“Sword vs Spirit”), and Jyothi Krishna’s direction helped shape that new structure.
