Why hasn't there been a falcon at Planeprint yet? Because its unique silhouette – short neck and long tail – makes it very difficult to achieve the correct CG. But now the time has come for our falcon to take off!

This is made possible by our new PLANEPRINT hybrid construction method, which we actually developed for indoor flying (Swift S1, Gippsland GA200). This construction method combines the advantages of 3D printing with the lightness of finished foam boards and enables significantly lighter models.

But that's not the only innovation in this model. For the first time, the entire tail can be moved in all directions so that the bird can be controlled like a normal aircraft without the need for a delta mixer. A special highlight is a small mechanism that spreads the tail feathers when the elevator is activated. Just like a real bird.

Performance and weight were the top priorities in the development of this project. That is why the Falcon does not have an EDF, but a folding propeller in its beak. Although this form of propulsion is not so easy to hide, it is much lighter and has a significantly longer motor runtime. Another advantage is that the head can be changed with just three screws, so that you can switch between glider and motor variants directly on the airfield. For the unfortunately unavoidable vertical stabilizer there are two versions to change, foam for maximum flying fun and transparent film for optimum appearance.

Another surprise is the aileron. It is not visible because it has no gap to the wing. The soft foam The soft foam board enables a new type of organic steering.

The result is an absolutely realistic looking falcon model that is not only capable of thermal flight but is also suitable for acro flying.
