Rhino3DMedical: From Medical Images to CAD

Rhino3DMedical enables a streamlined workflow from viewing, analyzing and segmenting medical data to the creation of 3D-printable meshes and CAD models in one process.

During the webinar, we give an introduction to Rhino3DMedical through use cases from the orthopedics and CMF domains. We show how to open medical images (in DICOM, nifti, or
other common formats) from CT and MRI machines, how to navigate through the different views, and how to segment the anatomies of interest. After getting familiar with Rhino3DMedical’s image processing tools, we discuss the creation of 3D printable meshes that could be directly sent to any 3D printer (in the form of an .stl file). Enlarging the topic of anatomical prints, we also cover surgical guide design, focusing on pedicle screws.

Speaker: Pablo Garcia-Amorena, Co-Founder and CTO of Mirrakoi

Pablo Garcia-Amorena is a co-founder and CTO of Mirrakoi. He is responsible for R&D, software development, and collaborations with external developers. He also participates in customer support in terms of software implementation, personalization, and testing.
Pablo holds two MSc degrees: one in Computational Science and Engineering and one in Industrial Engineering. Over the last 10 years, he gained experience in technical computing and algorithm development with a strong focus on mathematical modelling. He is specialized in developing CAD technology for shape modeling across various industries.
