AN army veteran caught out an apparent conman as he tried to sell fake poppy badges and has now shamed him in a viral video.

Colin Eastway, 36 quizzed the “scruffy looking bloke” who had set up a stall with the metal badges after he spied they were not genuine.

Formerly of the British parachute regiment, Colin then began filming the seller and saw red because he felt he was pocketing the cash and so disgracing fallen soldiers all over the world, including his friends killed in Afghanistan.

The video has now been viewed over one million times after he posted it on Facebook with viewers praising his heroism

Colin, from Liverpool, said: “I was going with my mum to take some blinds back when I noticed this table placed out with a scruffy looking bloke next to it.

“I knew 100% he’s not British Legion and was putting money in his pocket. I contacted them as I actually worked with them earlier this year. They definitely weren’t official poppies.
