First up, mugs, jars, and vases—perfect for makeshift thread stands. Then, there’s bars of soap, which make excellent tailor’s chalk (and wash out like magic!). Cups and mugs? Yep, those work as pattern weights when cutting fabric. Spray bottles filled with water? An absolute must for crisp pressing.

Need fabric for mock ups? Old bed sheets make fantastic fabric for samples. And don’t toss that junk mail and craft paper just yet—turn them into pattern paper for drafting. Chopsticks? Perfect for pushing out sharp corners when sewing. Utensil organizers keep all your sewing bits neat and tidy.
