TEDxDirigo - Figures of Speech - The Puppet As Metaphoric Being

At its root, puppet theater addresses issues of identity and existence, as puppets move with striking speed from lifeless object to mythic icon, raising the questions: "What is the spark that ignites life? How does the puppet's life differ from my own? Why am I me and not you?" Figures of Speech Theatre demonstrates the power of puppets as metaphoric beings, images of the transcendent nature of life.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
